Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

How is the meat packaged?
Our meat is wrapped in traditional white butcher paper .

How much will my meat cost?
All our prices are on a per lb. basis.  Because nature is not uniform and animals vary in size, so do our animals.  Therefore, we can't give you an exact weight for each product, only an approximation.  Most lamb carcass weights will average between 50 - 65lbs.  All orders based on carcass weights will be charged according to the hot weight of the carcass (or hanging weight).  Lamb carcass price is $5.50 per lb (therefore a 55lb. lamb would costs $302.50).

Do you deliver?
We prefer that you pick up your meat form the butcher shop, but can arrange for delivery if necessary.

How long will the meat keep in my freezer?
At least one year.  We suggest that you buy for what you will use in one year or less.

How much freezer space do I need?
A quarter of a beef takes about 4 cubic feet of freezer space, or about 6 brown grocery bags.  A half a lamb takes about one cubic feet of freezer space, or about two brown grocery bags.

What about bones and offal?
It is possible for bones and offal to be included in your order, but if you are purchasing less than a whole beef, please remember that you are sharing a whole animal and so the availability of the bones and offal will depend on the customers you are sharing your beef with.
